With Black Friday just a couple days away, WAVE 3 is working for you. We want to make sure you have easy access to all of the ads for your favorite stores. So we have compiled a list that links you directly to all of the major retailers' sales ads.* We have also added links to all the local malls so you know exactly when they open.*

September is National Library Card Sign-up month at the library

NEW ALBANY, IN (WAVE) – September is Library Card Sign-up Month, and the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library wants to make sure that all children in Floyd County have the smartest card of all – a library card. 

Studies show that children who are read to in the home and who use the library perform better in school and are more likely to continue to use the library as a source of lifetime learning. 

Summerfest returning in Indiana during Fourth of July weekend

CORYDON, IN (WAVE) - Summerfest is back!

During Fourth of July weekend the event formally known as "Cockadoodle Days" is returning for another year.

Taking place in the Grandstand will be Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League’s "Old Capitol Power Pull Midwest Region Finals" on both Friday and Saturday evenings beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Other Harrison County SummerFest events include a silent auction, art and craft booths, beer garden, bike show, karaoke contest and much more. Free entertainment will be provided by Nashville recording artist, Tim Dugger and local favorites, Big Phatty Band and Josh & Holly Band.

Tickets are available at the gate.

Repaving begins on Interstate 64 between New Albany and Corydon

NEW ALBANY, IN (WAVE) - Drivers who use Interstate 64 between New Albany and Indiana could encounter delays for the next few weeks as transportation workers begin doing prep work to repave the road surface.

The repaving project will affect both the eastbound and westbound lanes.

Construction crews will alternate lane closures and lift them during peak driving times.

The repaving work is scheduled to end in early July.

Schimpffs Confectionery celebrating sweet anniversary

JEFFERSONVILLE, IN (WAVE) - A local candy store is celebrating a very sweet anniversary. Schimpff's Confectionery of Jeffersonville marked its 120th year in business in April.

To celebrate, the store will be hosting a birthday party for the community at its location at 347 Spring Street in Jeffersonville. The party is scheduled for Saturday, June 11th from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

In honor of the historic anniversary, candy makers from across the country will be sending goodies to Schimpff's for sampling. Schimpff's will provide cake, candy, ice-cream, and special commemorative giveaways.

Shore sweeping to benefit community

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - If your looking to do your part to help the water quality and improve the cities litter situation then mark your calender!

The annual Ohio River Sweep is taking place June 18.

Volunteers are needed to help cleanup the entire shoreline from Pittsburg, PA to Cairo, IL. and because of the recent flooding help is needed more than previous years.

All volunteer that participate in the event will be given a free T-shirt for their time and effort. There are site locations in every county along the river. Trash bags and gloves will be available at the various site locations for the volunteers.
