NEW ALBANY, IN - Basketball is always the topic of conversation in March. This year, basketball is also a hot topic at the New Albany Animal Shelter along with kitten season. Soon, the shelter will be overrun with moms and babies. While the shelter does not euthanize due to space, it can easily become crowded and overwhelming for these already stressed animals. Stressed mothers can have a harder time keeping their little ones healthy while they grow.

LOUISVILLE, KY - The temperature is falling to frigid levels across the country, and the ASPCA is reminding pet owners that the cold weather can also be dangerous for our four-legged family members.

Louisville, Ky. - 2012 marks the 25th year for “Picture Your Pets with Santa," a holiday fundraiser where Jolly Ole Saint Nick will take time out of his busy schedule to help the Kentucky Humane Society (KHS) and other area animal groups by posing for professional portraits with pets of all kinds.

"Picture Your Pets With Santa" occurs at all 14 Feeders Supply stores during the first two weekends in December--December 1 and 2 and December 8 and 9. Saturday hours for the event run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sundays it takes place between noon and 5 p.m.

Same day photo service is available. Photos are offered in various packages, starting at only $10. This year, pet parents may choose to receive photos on a 1G commemorative thumb drive for $17.
