Paoli Peaks enjoying near-record snow making

Paoli Peaks enjoying near-record snow making

PAOLI, IN - With the recent blast of Arctic air, Paoli Peaks has been able to make snow in near record quantities. Snow making began at approximately 4:00am Monday morning, and has continued non-stop since then, allowing for heavy snow coverage on the entire resort. The majority of the trails have seen an additional 2 feet of snow from the recent snowmaking efforts, and some areas have seen as much as 5 feet of additional snow. This allows for contours to form on the trails in areas that are typically uniform.

With flurries expected throughout the day today, and accumulating snowfall forecast for Friday morning, Paoli Peaks expects conditions this weekend to be some of the best in recent memory.

"We are taking advantage of the current cold snap to make as much snow as possible. I couldn't ask for better conditions to pump snow out on the trails", says Matt Grenier, Paoli Peaks General Manager.

Paoli Peaks has over 110 Stationary towers & machines.

Cell Phones for Soldiers collection at the UofL basketball game Nov. 11

From Audrey Flagg, Marketing Coordinator, KFC Yum Center

Louisville, Ky. – In honor of Veterans Day and National Recycling Day, AEG Facilities will be collecting new and gently used cell phones for national non-profit, Cell Phones for Soldiers at the KFC Yum! Center.

Fans are being asked to bring the phones to the University of Louisville men’s basketball game vs. Manhattan on Sunday, November 11 from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. They will be collected in the main lobby.

In 2011, Cell Phones for Soldiers shared 690,000 communication tools with military families, providing more than 41 million minutes of talk time. These donated cell phones are being kept out of landfills where the hazardous chemicals and heavy metals they contain can pollute the earth.

Donated devices are sent to ReCellular, the world’s largest recycler of mobile devices, before being sent to the soldiers.
