Louisville, Ky. – Patti and Tim Coury and  Kelly and Del Farmer of The Porcini / Farmer Children’s Foundation have announced a $25,000 contribution to Boys & Girls Clubs of Kentuckiana (BGCK). This grant will support the construction and renovation of the Parkland Boys & Girls Club’s fitness room. 

Specifically, the funds will be used to build and renovate an existing space into a fitness room and then to equip the fitness room with weight machines and cardio equipment. Additional upgrades may also include bleachers, basketball goals and scoreboards in the gym. These improvements will allow Club members to pursue active, healthy lifestyles.

LOUISVILLE, KY - Even during severe winter weather, TARC buses are equipped to safely and efficiently carry passengers to their destination. However, there are occasions where side streets are totally impassable and TARC buses may have to detour. Detours are subject to change depending on weather and road conditions and snow removal efficiency.

In general, residential streets and steep hills are the first to close and remain closed the longest.

Vincenzo's to prepare Thanksgiving dinner for the homeless

Louisville, KY (WAVE) The Cathedral of the Assumption will hold its annual Thanksgiving Dinner for the Homeless and Hungry of Louisville, from Noon to 1pm on Tuesday, November 20, 2012. The Cathedral operates The Sandefur Dining Hall located at 433 South Fifth Street in Louisville and feeds a sustaining lunch to the homeless and hungry every day of the year.

The chefs from Vincenzo’s Italian Restaurant expects to feed about 300 people a full Thanksgiving meal of turkey, stuffing, green beans, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, gravy, and pumpkin cheesecake.

According to Chef Agostino; providing this Thanksgiving meal is “Something we’ve done for many years and plan to do for many years to come, we do it with pleasure.”
