The Ali Center partners up with independent films as part of its Metamorphosis Series

LOUISVILLE, KY - The Muhammad Ali Center has established a partnership with Community Cinema, a national, community engagement program of the Independent Television Service (ITVS) and the Public Broadcasting System (PBS) that supports groundbreaking independent films. This new partnership will add both depth and variety to the Muhammad Ali Center’s Metamorphosis Film Series. All films, which are free and open to the public, will be shown on the final Thursday of each month. Doors will open at 5:30 pm and films will start at 6:00 pm. All films will be shown in the Muhammad Ali Center auditorium and be followed by a selected education activity.

The premiere film of this meaningful partnership is The Powerbroker on Thursday, February 28. The Powerbroker, produced by Bonnie Boswell, is set in the 1950s and 60s when civil rights leader Whitney Young navigated a divided society.

The New Washington State Bank made a donation to the college of $25,000, in support of its efforts to provide quality education to people in southern Indiana.

Salem, In. - The annual Maple Syrup Festival in at Leane and Michael's Sugarbush will be held February 23 and 24 and March 2 and 3, 2013, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Leane and Michael’s Sugarbush is located at 321 N. Garrison Hollow Road, Salem, IN 47167.

The festival includes activities for all ages – food served all day, FREE tours of our syrup making operation, Native American and pioneer demonstrations of maple syrup making, our store with 2013  pure maple syrup to purchase (and a large variety of other items), many children’s activities and games, mule drawn wagon rides, craft vendors, live music and more. 

There is NO parking fee or entrance fee for the festival! We take all major credit cards in the store and dining room. Listed below are the activities and prices from the 2012 festival.

Louisville, KY - The Muhammad Ali Center has partnered with the Louisville Jewish Film Festival, organized by the Jewish Community Center of Louisville, to show A Bottle in the Gaza Sea on Sunday February 10 at 2:30pm in the Muhammad Ali Center Auditorium.  Admission to the film is free; however, attendees are asked to call 502.459.0660 to guarantee a ticket.
