The Ali Center partners up with independent films as part of its Metamorphosis Series
LOUISVILLE, KY - The Muhammad Ali Center has established a partnership with Community Cinema, a national, community engagement program of the Independent Television Service (ITVS) and the Public Broadcasting System (PBS) that supports groundbreaking independent films. This new partnership will add both depth and variety to the Muhammad Ali Center’s Metamorphosis Film Series. All films, which are free and open to the public, will be shown on the final Thursday of each month. Doors will open at 5:30 pm and films will start at 6:00 pm. All films will be shown in the Muhammad Ali Center auditorium and be followed by a selected education activity.
The premiere film of this meaningful partnership is The Powerbroker on Thursday, February 28. The Powerbroker, produced by Bonnie Boswell, is set in the 1950s and 60s when civil rights leader Whitney Young navigated a divided society.
